Santa Luzia (saint Lucia) Lifestyle Centre, known as a multi-functional Lifestyle Centre, is situated in the heart of the Helderberg area, Blue Rock Village. The name of the Centre holds a deeper meaning and an encouraging story of the late Saint Lucy.

Saint Lucia or Saint Lucy as many would call her, was a young Christian girl who showed love, kindness and humanity to many people, Christians in particular who were persecuted in Rome. Lucy secretly brought food to the Christians who were forced underground into the catacombs, Lucy would wear a crown of candles so she could use both of her hands to carry items. But with such humility and devotion also comes hardship and torture which she suffered in her efforts of making the world a better place but Lucy kept strong and became the “light” which is the significance of her name. Still today many around the world continue to practice and hold up high the values and principles of the late Saint Lucy.

The Santa Luzia (Saint Lucia) Lifestyle Centre will be built in her honour, to remember her life, which is now celebrated every year on the 13th of December in most parts of Europe. The 600 metres long Lifestyle Centre is designed by renowned architectural firm Swisatec. The Centre boast 40 000 square metres of floor space, seven stories high and a 10 000 square metre Lifestyle street designed to host conferences, exhibitions, interactive events such product launches, concerts and music festivals.

The Lifestyle Centre will be a vibrant hub symbolizing a modern village life where sophistication and chic collide with history and tradition. Its universal appeal will make it Cape Town’s foremost attraction for both locals and international visitors as it will offer a unique array of cafés, high-end restaurants, boutique shops, creative art studios i.e. pottery and painting, fresh produce markets, bakery shops, doctors centre, clinic, entertainment and professional office space for small to medium businesses just to mention a few.
